What about the Food?
In our last blog we talked about how we ate. So what about the food?
Well that’s easy– isn’t eating organic the number one priority?
To that I would say it is for the most part, but the title ‘organic’ unfortunately is not 100% fool proof. What you say!! Say it isn’t so!!! There have been several attempts by commercial companies to water down the term ‘organic’, and there do exist some gray area’s with the term.
So my advise to patients is to keep it real! Make sure your food is real. This includes being minimally processed. The average American has over 50% of his diet made up of processed foods.
The next step is to buy local whenever possible. Buying organically grown food that is then shipped hundreds of miles might not be the best way to go. Now if it’s locally and organically grown then that is the ideal scenario.
So to summarize, buy local and support your neighborhood farmers. Make sure your food is real and minimally processed. Focus on fresh fruits and vegetables. That’s one thing anyone nutritionally inclined will agree upon. Enjoy!
